Artist Statement
Watching the vine maples turn from spring green to summer green to the reds,
oranges, burgundies and yellows of autumn, is something I look forward to
when I am in the middle of winter and see the blacks and browns of the winter
trees while they are at rest. The maple leaves are truly living colour at
its finest.
"Autumn is a second spring, when every leaf is a flower". –by Albert Camus. God in his infinite wisdom gave us wonderful colours that live on in our memories as the seasons fade from one to the next.
Techniques & Materials
The materials used are Judy Robertson’s hand-dyed fabrics (both leaves
and background), using machine appliqué and quilting.
